Huge Rally in Lowell: The Patrick/Murray campaign will hold its last big rally in Lowell on November 5 at 2:00 in the Lowell High School gym. (Not to worry, the Patriots' game is on in the evening.) This is a very important regional event. The campaign wants to make a huge statement with this rally as we head into the election and get at least 1,000 people there. The event is being hosted by Rep. Marty Meehan, along with the Lowell mayor's office and city council and a variety of unions and civic organizations. Both Patrick and Murray will be there.

 

Campaign committees in Lowell, Chelmsford, and other neighboring communities will play a major role in outreach and staffing the rally. So we will need help from all of you for this key event. If you are interested in helping to organize the rally, please join us at the Greater Lowell Regional headquarters in Chelmsford on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. for our first volunteers meeting. (The headquarters is in Chelmsford Center near the Traveling Rhino gift shop.) In the meantime, please spread the word among your friends, neighbors, and family. Phone banking -- You do the math: There are 16 days to the election. During that time, we must make about 4,000 calls to finish the supporter identification program that is crucial to our get out the vote effort for November 7. Counting today, there are just 12 phone banking days left. We need to fill every phone line at every phone bank opportunity to reach our goal. Please, please, please pick a day (or two, or three) when you can give us some of your time. We are running out of real estate here and urgently need your help. As a reminder: We make calls Monday through Friday from 6:15 to 8:30 and on Sunday from 4 to 7. We will also be phone banking the Saturday before the election. The phone bank is located at One Village Square on the second floor in the offices of Hands on Technology Transfer. I can't stress enough how important these phone calls are. We must identify as many supporters as possible so we can have a strong list to call the weekend before the election with reminders to vote . Any margin the Patrick now has in the polls can narrow significantly over the next few weeks. We will need our best get-out-the-vote effort to assure a victory.

GLAD Brunch to honor Angie Taranto>
Our own Angelo Taranto, who's made an awful lot of phone calls for Deval Patrick, will be a Distinguished Democrat award honoree at the annual Greater Lowell Area Democrats brunch. Congressman Marty Meehan and many other state and local officials will attend. Let's have a good Chelmsford turnout for Angie and take a few minutes to meet our neighboring Democrats.
